I've been cutting back for a while, concentrating on keeping credit cards clear, keeping the mortgage payments going and paying regular household bills.

But every time I pop to the shops, I see people spending, spending, spending. I earn a decent amount, so just don't know how these people are doing it. Are they just putting it on plastic hoping that the sotrm will pass?

If it carries on and gets any worse, there are going to be big problems!
